Malibu, California

We spent a week on the beach in Malibu, California and our spot was perfect. We had a beachfront view of the Pacific Ocean and even though we didn't get to view the sunsets because we were not looking due west, but south, we still enjoyed the beauty of the ocean and seeing lots of seagulls and pelicans fly back and forth. Also the sounds of the waves could be heard and surprisenly, even though we were right above Coast Hwy 101, we heard very little traffic. June Gloom brought a few cloudy and cool days, but fortunately we were able to have more sunny days than not. Todd, Jeannette, Emma and Wyatt were staying in a campground about 15 miles from us so we were able to see them everyday and have most of our evening meals together. We only ate out one time which was at a place next door to our RV park, Malibu Seafood, which had the best fish and chips, shrimp and fish tacos. I could have eaten the tacos everyday!

Success on my first picture showing Frank, Glenna and myself getting ready to move down the road from our house in Las Vegas.

Leaving Las Vegas

Summer 2009 Travels

This is my first blog and I hope to post pictures and logs of our trip during the next five months. We left Las Vegas yesterday, June 17, 2009 in our motor home and we spent the night in Baker, CA. Now that is a first...we were parked with the big rigs (BIG TRUCKS) and of course it wasn't very quiet during the night because most of them ran their engines all night. This didn't bother me, but Frank , even with ear plugs, didn't have a very pleasant night and was up early this morning. We arrived at our destination this afternoon in Malibu, CA where we have an ocean front view and it is so beautiful. I envision a beautiful sunset this evening. My next challenge will be trying to post pictures.
